Home > Palladio & Avant Garde Entrance Doors
Palladio and Avant Garde are two ranges of composite entrance door made by Profile Developments, and we supply and install both from our Cheltenham showroom. Between them you get 41 door styles in 16 colours, triple glazed as standard, double rebated as standard, PAS 24 certified and covered by a 12 year guarantee. The Palladio Collection covers classic and traditional designs. The Avant Garde Collection is the contemporary range, detailed with 316 marine grade stainless steel.
Every door is made to measure and priced against your actual opening, so there is no standard size to work around. We survey, order, fit and warrant the whole job, or supply only if you have your own fitter. Prices depend on style, glass, sidelights and hardware, so the quickest route to a real number is a call or a showroom visit.

The Palladio Collection is the classic range, running to 31 styles including Belfast, Palermo, San Marco, Giza, Georgian, Kensington, Oxford and Dublin. Each door starts life as a real timber door. A gel mould is taken from the original and the grain detail is transferred onto the composite skin, which is why the woodgrain reads as convincingly as it does in Bog Oak and Light Oak.
In our experience a Palladio composite door works better than an aluminium entrance door on a period or traditional elevation, because the moulded panel detail and the foil woodgrain sit correctly against brick and Cotswold stone, where a flat aluminium slab can look imported onto the front of the house. On a rendered contemporary front or a new build we would usually specify the other way round, and we sell both, so we have no reason to push you either way.
Avant Garde is the contemporary range: ten styles in Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Dali, Gauguin, Madrid, Marquez, Matisse, Milan, Van Gogh and Rio Grande. The designs take their cue from the Bauhaus movement and the work of Frank Lloyd Wright, and the inlays are 316 marine grade stainless steel rather than a coated substitute, which matters on an exposed elevation where salt and rain will find anything cheaper.
Structurally it is a different build to the Palladio. Avant Garde uses a Durohalts composite structure around a high density PU core with a 56mm triple glazed unit. That is what takes the glazed Avant Garde to 0.83 W/m²K, against 0.98 for a glazed Palladio.
The slab is a monocoque structure reinforced with 65mm of fibreglass and filled with a PUREXO core, a construction protected in Europe under patent 1766176. Over that sits a true colour ABS sheet and a Renolit foil finish. Nothing on the door is painted, so there is no paint film to chip back to a different colour underneath, and the unique wall construction is the reason these doors do not warp, twist or delaminate.
The frame carries the same Renolit foil as the slab, so the colour matches all the way round. We have found that this is the detail customers notice after installation rather than before. A door in Anthracite Grey hung in a white frame is the single most common regret we hear about composite doors bought elsewhere, and it cannot be fixed afterwards.
A solid Palladio door returns 0.78 W/m²K and a solid Avant Garde 0.79. Glazed, the figures are 0.98 and 0.83 respectively. Building regulations for replacement doors in England currently ask for no worse than 1.4 W/m²K, so every door in both ranges clears that comfortably.
Two details do the work. Every unit is triple glazed as standard, not as an upgrade, and every door is double rebated, meaning two weather seals rather than the single seal you get on a standard 44mm single rebated composite door. From working with clients on draughty Victorian porches, the second seal is usually what they notice first, before any U-value on a certificate.
Both collections are PAS 24:2016 certified and CE accredited, and the test certificates are published rather than claimed. The Yale Mantis 3 lock gives ten locking points: four roller cams, two linear bolts, two hooks, a thumb latch and a deadbolt, used with a lever lever or lever pad handle. A Heritage slam lock is available instead, which throws five points automatically the moment the door closes.
Door furniture is 316 marine grade stainless steel with a five year anti-corrosion warranty. An anti-snap, anti-bump high security cylinder is an optional extra, and it is the one we recommend adding on any door fronting a road.
Sixteen colours run across both ranges: Agate Grey, Anthracite Grey, Balmoral, Blue, Bog Oak, Burgundy, Champagne, Chartwell Green, Cream, Platinum Bronze, Quartz Grey, Red, Sage, Silver Grey, White and Windsor. The Sage frame is supplied with a smooth finish rather than a grain.
Sidelight glass is made in house to match the glass in the door itself, which most composite door manufacturers cannot offer at all. Bespoke glass designs are possible, and arched top lights are available across both the Palladio and Avant Garde ranges. In our experience this is where a composite door either looks specified or looks bought, and it costs very little to get right at order stage.
We have been supplying and installing doors and windows across Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds for over 20 years, with our own in-house fitters rather than subcontractors, and every installation is HomePro insurance backed. Palladio and Avant Garde doors carry a 12 year manufacturing guarantee on the door itself.
We have fitted [confirm figure] entrance doors across Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds since [confirm figure]. On a like for like survey and fit, an entrance door is a one day job in most cases, and the survey is where the money is saved or lost. We measure the structural opening rather than the old frame, because a frame that has moved will hand you a door that does not.
